The ubiquitous Gothamist disagrees with me on the Joe Roth appreciation, and reliving the show through the recap almost makes me agree. However, I maintain that the damn show will always be boring, yet like that one last glass of whiskey that pushed us over the edge of the gleaming porcelain, we’ll keep coming back for more.
I’m not saying I won’t watch it next year or the year after. I’m just saying that this year’s show almost killed me with how boring it was. Really.

I hear you. I’m just saying that on the scale of boredom, the freshest is always the worst. The year that the Donners produced, with Glenn Close and Donald Sutherland as the announcers backstage, and the show went something like 17 hours? That was pretty deathlike. And Letterman’s year … I love him, but big snore. Last year with all the added tributes still gives me nightmares. It almost kills me every year.

This stalking thing can work both ways you know.
I know where you live.
I have it marked on a map with a red pin.
Oh yes.

Oh sure … be all secretive about it. You sing loud and proud about all your other stalkees.

Also, you picked the wrong Rod Stewart song in your other post. “The First Cut Is The Deepest” totally kicks the butt of “Maggie May”.
And you missed out “Fools Rush In (Where Angels Fear To Tread)” by Brook Benton. I never let anyone stalk me if they don’t like that song.

I didn’t pick the songs, dearie … my iPod did randomly. That was the purpose of the whole exercise. Those definitely weren’t my 20 favorite songs. If they were, you think I would have missed the Chipmunk Punk version of “Call Me”? In fact, I’m with you on “The First Cut Is the Deepest.”
